A collection of quilts from the finest wool merino, designed not only for your kids, but for all those who enjoy soft but natural materials.
These blankets are made of very fine merino wool. The softness of merino is mainly due to the character of wool fiber. In the case of the Rhodopian or Old-Polish Bulgarian wool, it is a fiber with a thickness of between 27 and 40 microns, whereas with merina it is about 14 to 25 microns. Thanks to this, the human skin does not perceive so much in the merino yarn ending of individual wool hair and therefore the merino products seem to be softer.
We offer you a full range of merino blankets in various weights and a wide range of sizes. The smallest weight blankets that captivate with their airiness and puffiness are Perelika and Kaliakra. These are similar blankets, only Kaliakra is woven with a plastically raised decor. Both are available in several sizes: a classic blanket 150 x 200 cm, a baby blanket, respectively. 100 x 150 cm plaid and finally a small travel blanket for the stroller from spring to autumn in dimensions of 80 x 100 and 70 x 90 cm.
On the contrary, Gergana and the merino variant of Rhodope are characterized by higher weights. Rodopa is available in sizes 145 x 195 cm and 200 x 220 cm. With its plastic checkerboard décor, it will become a very elegant addition to the living room or serve as a delicate bedspread over a double bed. Gergana Blanket is a hardwoven dense blanket that can be used as a blanket and therefore we have it in a classic size of 150 x 200 cm and also in a child size of 100 x 150 cm. In addition, we offer Gergan in a slightly unusual size of 60 x 120 cm, which corresponds to the usual size of the baby mattress and can therefore be easily used as a cot mat. Especially when taking care of newborns and toddlers, you will appreciate that your kids will be warm from the bottom and in the event of an accident will protect Gergan’s mattress from contamination. Then simply wash the Gergan.
All the blankets in this section are really very fine, and even those for whom ordinary shear products are indestructible do not have to worry about them. Merino is somewhat more delicate, but it does not disappoint even when used outdoors. Personally, over the years, we have tested our baby blankets while taking care of our offspring, with very satisfactory results for use in a stroller, on the move, and in a baby cot. Their quality is also evidenced by the ever expanding range of customers who are looking for baby blankets on our friends’ recommendations.
All blankets in this category have been tested in the laboratory and thanks to the certification we have received as a result of the successful test, we can officially label these products as baby blankets. However, with some of our larger merino blankets draped over your shoulders, you can enjoy a pleasant sitting while sitting by the fireplace or on the cool evening terrace. And if you accidentally smash it even with red wine, it can be washed just like our other blankets.
Although Merino is the original Spanish breed, but today it is almost impossible to find it in Europe. Thanks to the ideal climatic conditions, he is particularly successful in Australia and New Zealand. These countries now provide the vast majority of merino wool production in the world, and the wave of our merino blankets comes from here.
MAINTENANCE
Wash cold or at most 30 ° C, preferably on a woolen program, preferably using a lanolin-containing wool wash. If you are not sure whether your washing machine can handle woolen products sensitively, we recommend hand washing. Even coarser blankets will soften somewhat after washing. Do not bleach or blanket blankets in a tumble dryer. You can clean and iron them chemically, but the iron temperature must not exceed 110 ° C. In general, it is not recommended to wash woolen products excessively, as wool during the washing process gradually loses its natural properties and abilities. We recommend that you frequently wind wool blankets and carpets in the fresh air, returning wool fibers to their natural qualities while preventing moth protection. If you are not sure how to proceed with your wool product, please contact us at info@balkanova.eco.
