An excellent wine from the Thracian plain, characterised by its dark purple colour. Its aroma reveals first a hint of mint and vanilla and then a full-bodied aroma of forest fruits. The palate is full, delicate and soft, with noble oak tannins. The wine has been aged for 12 months in barriques. It is a cuvée of merlot, syrah, petit verdot and cabernet sauvignon. Excellent with red meat and Balkan cheese. The Bessa Valley winery is located in the fertile countryside of the Thracian Plain wine region. The Bessa Valley vineyards are characterised by their proximity to the Marica River and the Rhodope Mountains, which provide protection from adverse weather conditions. This is a vinery area that was already famous for its wine-growing in ancient times, when this part of Thrace was inhabited by the rebellious Bes, one of the Thracian tribes. Their viticultural skills were highly appreciated by the ancient Greeks.
