Yamantiev's Villa Armira - the Yamantiev family vineyards are situated on the eastern slopes of the Rhodope Mountains, an area with a hot Mediterranean climate, which is fed by the regular winds from the Aegean Sea. The Villa Armira range, named after an important local surviving monument - a Roman patrician villa dating back to the 3rd century AD - produces three excellent dry-aged red wines, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz, all of which enjoy the hot southern sun. Shiraz is a globally widespread variety, locally defined as a strong and astringent masculine wine with a long finish, aged in barrique barrels for three months. Among the wines of this variety, this shiraz was also awarded a gold medal at the AWC international wine competition in Vienna in 2017. The Yamantieff family cellars are located in the town of Ivailovgrad in the eastern part of the Rhodope Mountains, 70 km from the Mediterranean Sea. It is located in a hill region. The soils are of the chernozem type, very suitable for growing wine, tobacco, peaches, figs and wheat. There are approximately 300 days of sunshine a year in this area. The total area of vineyards is 320ha of which 40ha are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, 120ha to Merlot, 45ha to Pamid and 15ha to other varieties. The owners of the vineyards are private farmers who are associated under the wine cooperative Ivailovgrad. Vinivel buys wine from them for further processing. The average age of the vineyards is 12 to 20 years and the average harvest volume is 850 to 950 kg per 1000 square metres. The vineyards are within 6km of the wine cellar. Vinivel's average wine production is 1 200 000 litres. Most of the wines are aged in oak barique barrels imported from France. The wines have a very good aroma, a strong taste of fruit and are voluminous with a content of 12-15.5 % vol., extract 24 to 30 g/l. It is exported to the USA, the Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Canada and Sweden.
