The beautiful colour palette of muted natural tones in the Nara blanket is due to the fact that the dyes used to dye the yarns are made from natural fabrics – this is also the case with the light green version you are looking at.
We have derived the name of this blanket from the word nar, which is of Persian origin and means pomegranate. In the Balkans and in Asia Minor, where the blanket is made in Istanbul, it is used in the same sense. With its fragile yet firm constitution and the slight irregularities in the pattern, the blanket reminds us of the natural irregularity and dim brightness of a pomegranate.
Due to the handmade nature of the Nara quilt, it is possible that the actual dimensions of the quilt may vary by ±8% from the declared dimensions.
